Apple TV app is coming to Roku; Users can start streaming Apple TV Plus content from 1st November

Good news for Roku users! Apple is launching its new TV app on Roku devices. So, starting from 1st November 2019, Roku users can stream Apple TV plus content. Basically, Apple TV app is an agent that streams combined content. It combines various Television services including ESPN, Amazon Prime Video and iTunes as well. At a time you can search for movies and TV shows from those apps without flipping from one app to another. Though it is a strong theory, in practice it is not 100 percent feasible.

This app shows several movies and shows separately. But it won’t allow you to watch within the Apple TV app without Apple TV channels and the iTunes content. Means, its the basic feature of app that the Roku device has the ability to stream Apple TV Plus content along with iTunes content and Apple TV channels.

In this Apple TV app there are 2 different versions, one is for Apple devices which is efficient and another is for third-party devices which is less-efficient. Those third-party devices include Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs and some other smart TVs. Both these versions of app are different from Apple TV+.

The streaming partner Roku is extremely important to get control over this app. Users need to create an account in Roku device to get access over thousands of streaming channels. Also, there will be no monthly rental fees for Roku. However, adding a payment method lets you subscribe to services like Netflix or you can buy or rent the movies easily on demand.

Coming to Apple TV app on Roku, this new app requires user Apple ID to authenticate the customers. So, with Apple ID, Roku users can get customized suggestions and can access the purchased content as well. As Roku is the popular streaming platform, Apple can easily expand its audience of Apple TV Plus with its services through Roku.

The app should available on your Roku device to enjoy all the benefits of Apple TV app. It is because, not all models are supporting this application. This newly launched app is said to be available for only selected models. Also, it is not supported in all the countries. The countries that it supports are, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, France, Honduras, Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, United Kingdom, United States, and Republic of Ireland,.

It is said that Apple TV app offers Apple TV channels along with iTunes content. These channels include Showtime, HBO, and Starz. Users can subscribe and watch these channels from the new Apple TV app. Means, there is no need to download any third-party apps individually to watch these channels.

Scott Rosenberg, Roku senior vice president and general manager of Platform Business, said that “With the Apple TV app coming to Roku, our customers will enjoy an even broader range of exciting entertainment, including the highly anticipated Apple TV+ service,” Also, he added in a statement that “Roku is a valuable partner for content providers looking to reach a large and engaged audience, and we’re looking forward to bringing this new option to Roku users.”

Live TV streaming apps are gradually increasing and the future of TV is now getting into everyone’s hands through mobiles. However, users not only watch movies and shows on phones but there are many users who watch on smart TV through a medium like Roku, Fire TV, and other such devices. So, this new Apple TV app on such devices will surely be a hit.
